Bat testing to continue

May 15, 2022 ·   Equipment

Managers and Players, you all know that we have been testing bats for the last couple of months.  We have tested a great number of bats but I want to assure you that we will continue to have our bat testers at the Sites and will give you the opportunity to test your old bats as well as your new bats.  We have done quite a bit of research about the safe compression and we will continue to monitor the different bats and make sure all of you will have easy access to testing.

The 50's tournament in  Lee County should afford you the opportunity to get your bats tested if you have done so yet.  We will have bat testers at all 3 locations.

Beginning with the 60+ tournament in Polk County our umpires will start checking the bats for the stickers, which indicates that the bat is deemed a safe bat.  As the batter comes to the plate he will turn the handle of the bat to show the umpire.  If a Player enters the Batter's Box with a bat that does not have  a FHC Sticker on the bat that Player will bet called out.  It is the responsibility of the Managers to make sure that every one of your Players understands this new policy.

If a Player buys a new bat, or a new Player joins a team, those bats still need to be tested before the bat is used in a game.

I will address this and more in my Chairman's Notes later this week.

Mike Knowles
FHC Chairman
