Chairman's Notes April 2020 Week 3

Apr 21, 2020 ·   Chairman's Notes

Managers, we are now in the 5th week of the virus lockdown.  As most of you do, I follow the Governor's Reports daily.  The first phase of the plan, announced by the President's people, cannot begin until a state has diminished numbers for 14 days in a row.  We have not gotten there yet, but here's hoping we can return to the fields sooner than later.  I will make a decision on Ft. Myers (May 50's) sometime this week.  Or, the decision may be made for me.  If the Site people are not working, we are not playing.  In the meantime, here is some valuable information.

Managers, if you know of someone who wants to start playing in FHC tell them to contact me ASAP.  We are not real busy at the moment, but we will be when the Sites are opened up for us to play.

Please contact all of your Players, and ask them if they need a Replacement Card.  If someone needs a new card, have them contact me ASAP.

Look over your FHC Rosters.  Make sure everyone who has played this season has been given credit.  You have 30 days after a tournament is played to make sure your Players did get credit for playing in a tournament.  If you have a question, or if you need a Password to get to your roster, contact Greg Hazel, our Secretary.

Some Managers have put together an email list for their team, and forwards information to them when it comes from the FHC Board of Directors.  Keep them informed each and every time you receive something from FHC.

This is a great time for you to communicate with your Players about sportsmanship, especially if you have a new person join your team.  We expect every Player to treat the FHC Officials, umpires, and each team with respect.  Also, let them know that bad language is not tolerated.  There could be severe repercussions if that happens.

Managers, repeating myself, you have 30 days after a tournament to check your roster and make sure that your Players get credit for being at a tournament.  If a person is injured, but comes to the tournament, they still get credit for that tournament.

God bless,

Mike Knowles
FHC Chairman
